It is named after Maharishi Patanjali and was founded by Swami Ramdev in 2006. Patanjali Yogpeeth is one of the finest institutes of India involved in research and manufacturing of Ayurvedic medicines. It makes Yoga popular through its Yoga camps, courses, and classes.

It is one of the cleanest campuses, where Yoga camps, classes, and courses are conducted regularly. There is a university, medical college, research laboratory, hospital, and residential quarters, where students study and conduct research on Ayurvedic treatments. Medicines are manufactured here, and there are large auditoriums where conferences and seminars are held. These auditoriums are also used by thousands who participate in Yogic practices like Pranayama, Asanas, meditation, etc. There is a library where several rare and valuable books, manuscripts are being restored to save them for future generations.

Visitors can shop for a vast range of Patanjali products in the shop inside the campus. There are other products like footwear, garments, etc. which are available for sale. The canteen offers hygienic and healthy food to visitors at reasonable rates.

Patanjali Yogpeeth is between Haridwar and Roorkee and is closer to Roorkee. Driving by car is the best way to visit Patanjali Yogpeeth from Haridwar, and you will have to drive for about an hour to cover the distance of 23 km between Haridwar and Patanjali Yogpeeth.
