The upcoming Kumbh Mela is going to be held in Nashik. Millions of people are expected to visit Nashik during this religious event. The Nashik Kumbh Mela Dates are expected to fall between July 14 to September 25, 2027. Major places in Nashik like Panchvati, Trambakeshwar, etc. will be full of tourists and religious people. This Kumbh Mela is going to be celebrated after 12 years.

Holy dip in Godavari River

The sacred river which flows through Nashik is the Godavari River. The river is considered so sacred that it is termed the Dakshina Ganga, or Ganga of the South. The devotees and tourists will take a holy dip in the Godavari River during the days of the Kumbh Mela. Therefore this will also be called Nashik Maha Kumbh Mela. This holy dip is a ritual that has been passed down for centuries. Taking a holy dip in Godavari is said to dissolve all the sins and bring liberation from life and death.

Arrival of Akharas

The next Kumbh mela in Nashik is going to be a grand spectacle. Akharas will arrive in Nashik during this time. This are sects of Sadhus, Sanyasis, and holy men. They will come in large numbers during the Kumbh Mela. Usually, they chant loud slogans and chants, accompanied by drums and the rhythmic beats of cymbals. It is a treat to view the procession of these akharas during the Kumbh Mela at Nashik.
