Posted on 09-04-2020 | by: admin

Kumbh is truly an enduring journey of the Indian way of life and Shahi Snan is the most eminent tradition of the most religious festival regardless of the geographical boundary. It is also known as Amrit Snan or Rajakiya Snan. Curious about Shahi Snan!! Let’s dive into the most traditional presentation of Hinduism.

What is Shahi Snan?

Shahi Snan is all about taking a holy bath in the devout rivers on the auspicious day of the new moon to get rid of iniquity and to untie yourself from the cycle of rebirth. The first Shahi Snan is dedicated to the saints of Akhada like Naga Sadhus, which is followed by the Niranjani, Vaishnava, Mahanirvani and Juna Akhada and more. All the saints start bathing at the crack of the dawn and create an enchanted moment. The colorful environment, a sea of mankind and magical chanting make you feel the divine ambiance.

Kumbh Mela is the symbolic statement of Indian ethics and practices, it’s all about a celebration of customaries, significant memories, the resonance of clamors and a perfect blend of saffron clothes, dust, miscreants and saints.

The Outset of Shahi Snan

The Shahi Snan commences at the first light for which the saints and their disciples turn up to the holy river along with a gun-wielding pageant for the sacred bath. The setting usually gets filled with exhilaration, flower petals and rangolis, dhols and magical sounds and Har Har Mahadev, Jai Ganga Maiya Ki mantras to the Shahi Snan location.

On the other hand, the saints are truly mesmerizing to witness. The garlands, holy ash-covered body, saffron flags, glittering weapons are really breath-taking. It’s a treat to watch and dream to experience for sure. Right after the Shahi Snan or Rajakiya Snan, the devotees take a holy dip to wipe out their misdeeds.

During the procession for Shahi Snan, the Naga Sadhus lead the way followed by other Akhada groups and fascinate the votaries all over the world.
