Haridwar Kumbh Mela

The Kumbh Mela at Haridwar, which will be celebrated in 2027, is the Ardh Kumbh Mela. This type of Kumbh Mela takes place every 12 years, and this time it is scheduled to take place in Haridwar. The Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027 is scheduled to commence on Makar Sankranti, which falls on January 14, 2027. It will continue for 3 months and end in April 2027. Although this is the Ardh Kumbh Mela, its spiritual significance is no less than the Kumbh Mela, which is held every 12 years at Haridwar.

Amrit Snan Dates

There will be four (4) Amrit Snans during the Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027. Amrit Snan is the first right of the Akhada members who arrive in Haridwar to participate. These dates are very auspicious and holy for bathing in Har ki Pauri at Haridwar.

  • The first Amrit Snan will be on Mahashivratri on March 6, 2027.
  • The second Amrit Snan will be on the holy occasion of Phalguni Amavasya on March 8, 2027
  • The third Amrit Snan will take place on April 14, 2027, which is Vaishakhi
  • The last and fourth Amrit Snan will take place on April 20, 2027, on Chaitra Purnima

Celebrations of Hindu culture

You can view the mesmerising culture of India and its spiritual traditions in the Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2027. The 13 Akhadas will arrive in a grand procession in Haridwar to participate in the Haridwar Ardh Kumbh Mela 2027. These akhada members have the first right to bathe in the holy Ganga, and this ritual is called Amrit Snan. Other devotees can bathe only after the akhada members have done their bathing. Devotees can participate in devotional prayers, dance and music programmes, aartis, and visit places in Haridwar and Rishikesh.
